Book Fair: March 5th - 9th in the Woodridge Library
Aloha! It’s time for the Woodridge Book Fair!
From March 5th – 9th the library will make its transition into the greatest bookstore in town! Huge Scholastic trucks will arrive and deposit thousands of books in carts and boxes. By Tuesday afternoon the library will be transformed into a virtual carnival of books.
Make it a family evening on Thursday, March 8th in the gym where we will be having Book Fair Bingo Night from 5:30p to 7:15p.
Be sure to check your child’s backpack for important information and schedules.
This is a fun week for the children! However, there are two important reasons why we have the Book Fair and why the PTSA invests so much time and energy to make it a success:
1. It is important for children to have their own books and a personal library that they have access to.
2. The Book Fair revenue is a major part of the Woodridge Library Budget! The demand for books to match the curriculum areas, research books for all reading levels and books to match the wide range of interests for our students creates a long list of books to buy each year. Also in place is the systematic plan to keep our non-fiction books up to date. Woodridge students are avid readers and it is imperative to have a good selection of the best new fiction books.
As an added bonus, Scholastic has now made it easier than ever to purchase books from the Book Fair.
Beginning March 1st and ending March 21st purchases can be made ONLINE!
During the three weeks you can simply go to www.scholastic.com/schoolbookfair and select Woodridge Elementary to begin shopping.
For our Book Fair to be a success we need your help. There are many volunteer opportunities.We need your help getting the library ready for the magical transformation to the Book Fair Carnival, running the student previews, operating the Book Fair Store, helping with Bingo Night, and on Friday closing it all down.
Book fair hours this year will be:
Tuesday, March 6
Set up 12:35pm - 3:25pm
Wednesday, March 7
AM Classroom previews 9:00am - 1:00pm, Store open 1:05pm - 6:00pm
Thursday, March 8
Store open 8:45am - 8:00pm, Bingo Night 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Friday March 9
Store open 8:45am - 4:30pm
