"Math Is Cool" is Open for Registration!

 

 

 

Woodridge Math Club invites students to participate in the Math Is Cool competition.

 

Math is Cool is a full-day regional math competition held in Renton, WA. Students participate in teams of 4, but are also welcome to register as individuals to compete in only the individual events. This competition is open to 4th-5th graders.

 

All 5th grade teams are now filled, and we are looking for one more 4th grade team (3rd graders may register as 4th graders).

 

We suggest that teams schedule practice sessions to familiarize students with the format of the events and the style of the questions. Past tests and rules are available at https://www.academicsarecool.com/

 

Dates:

5th Grade Champs: Saturday, March 8, 2025 (Renton WA), 9:15 am - 2:00 pm

4th Grade Champs: Saturday, March 22, 2025 (Renton WA), 9:15 am - 2:00 pm

Girls Try Lacrosse Days!!!

 

Bellevue Girls Lacrosse is hosting Try Lacrosse days on Jan 26 12-1:30pm and Feb 15 1-1:30pm @ BHS stadium.

This is a free event for girls K-5 to try out lacrosse before the spring season.

Girls lacrosse is a very SAFE (very different from boys) with contact similar to basketball.

Interlake Saints Robotics Winter Camp

 

Saints Robotics would love to invite you to be a part of our Saints Engineering Robotics Camp (SERC) from February 18th to February 21st this year from 9am to 4pm! We will be guiding students grade 1-6th through building their own robots using EV3 and Legos as well as block coding. We will also be teaching the engineering design process through engaging activities such as building a car with CDs! The fee for this amazing opportunity is only $200 per student. It is held at Interlake High School. This is a great opportunity for younger children to get introduced into STEM in a fun and exciting way. All experience levels are welcome, we hope to see you there!

 

Each day is structured as follows:

  • Mornings: A research project, break, and engineering activity
  • Noon: 45 minutes lunch /recess (bring lunch from home)
  • Afternoon:  Robot coding /final project

University of Washington Afterschool Youth Writers Workshop

 

Young Writers Workshop (4th – 5th grades)


Join a community of students who are passionate about creative writing. Practice good writing habits and skills as you learn about the craft. Throughout this course, you’ll develop strategies for generating story ideas, use word building to create interesting settings and intriguing characters, and explore fun writing strategies to bring your ideas to life. We’ll write short stories, poetry and longer works. You’ll also learn how to make the editing and revision process fun and exciting.

 

This online course is taught via Zoom video conferencing.

Pedalheads Spring and Summer Bike Lessons

 

 

Pedalheads Bike is a learn-to-ride camp known for taking kids from training wheels to two wheel to road riding. We combine a fun group setting with specialized equipment, tailored cycling lessons, and incredible instructors to build confidence and get some of the most tentative kids biking on their own. Upcoming camps include spring break and summer break.
