Knights of Pi Math Tournament
Newport Math Club will be hosting their annual Knights of Pi Math Tournament (KPMT) on December 9th, from 12:30 PM to 8:00PM. KPMT is an annual math competition for 5-8th graders. Students can participate as a team of 4 or as individuals.
If your team is interested in attending the competition, please sign up using the following FORM. Registration will close on December 1st, 11:59PM.
Payment will be made on Touchbase. The price is $7.50 per student or $30.00 per team. If your student(s) is in the Bellevue School District, you can pay through your account. Otherwise, you will need to create a guest account and pay that way.

Holidays with WISE
Does your student enjoy science experiments? Let us take care of the mess while you get some holiday shopping done! "Holidays with Wise" is a STEAM event for kids ages 4 through 5th grade and will be at Hazelwood Elementary School (in Newcastle) on Wednesday, December 6th from 5-7:30 p.m. A Costco pizza dinner with sides is included in the $50 cost. Little Wolverines is Back!
Who it's for: Girls in K-3rd grade interested in learning basketball
What: Our Bellevue High School Girls coaches & players will lead the clinics and make it very fun & interactive for the girls to learn the love of basketball
When: 5 Saturdays - 1/6, 1/20, 1/27, 2/3, 2/10 from 10-11:30am at BHS
How much: $150, and you can save $50 if you refer a friend!

Math Kangaroo Registration is open!
Math Kangaroo is a fun individual math competition. Each participant will receive a T-Shirt and a small gift!

This year, the competition will take place at Woodridge on the evening of Thursday, March 21 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM.

Wise Camps STEAM Nights / Academic Day Camps
Does your student enjoy science, technology, engineering, art and/or math? We invite students ages 4 through 5th grade to join our monthly camps during the 2023-24 school year! Wise Camps is offering five STEAM nights on Wednesdays from 5-7:30 p.m. where students rotate through five exciting stations and a Costco Pizza dinner is provided! On Friday, November 10th and Monday, January 15th, there is no school in honor of Veteran's Day and MLK Jr. Day, so we are offering a full day STEAM experience from 8:30-3:30 p.m. with Panda Express lunch provided! Cost of STEAM nights is $50 and the cost of full day STEAM camps is $150. Buy a 2023-24 Camp Pass for all 7 camps and save $50. Sibling discounts and scholarships available. All camps will be held in elementary/middle schools on the Eastside (Bellevue, Mercer Island, Newcastle, Renton Highlands). Bellevue High School Co-ed Dance Team is thrilled to announce its first annual K-8 Mini Dance Camp to build community awareness around the BHS Dance team and develop relationships with future upcoming dancers.

Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink
Featuring the region’s largest covered open-air ice (real frozen water) skating experience, admission/reservations can be made on-line as of early November.
Our school earns $3.00 form every paying visitor that tells the ice rink staff that they are part of Woodridge Elementary School!
Ice skating opens to the public on Friday, November 17 and closes on Sunday, January 15. Families can make it a night of holiday fun with a visit to Snowflake Lane at The Bellevue Collection and stroll through Garden d’Lights at the Bellevue Botanical Garden.

Unique Online Afterschool Learning Opportunity for 4th – 5th grade students
STEAM Innovation Lab: Circuitry & Coding
Build and create in this foundational STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) course designed for young artists, engineers and anyone who likes to tinker. Dive into coding and robotics with the Sphero Mini, a robot with programmable sensors and an LED matrix. Gain hands-on experience with block coding and JavaScript, and build valuable computational thinking and coding skills — all while taking on creative challenges. Design paper circuits that light up and develop STEAM skills through imaginative problem-solving in this course for young makers.
What You’ll Learn
• Foundations of electrical circuits, coding and robotics
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills used in the design process
• How to collaborate with peers, tackle challenges and learn from one another
More Information
This remote course is taught via Zoom video conferencing. Classes meet in real time and are not recorded. To participate, you need access to a computer with a high-speed internet connection, a headset and webcam.
We’ll provide supplies and will mail them prior to the start of the course. Note: We cannot ship supplies internationally.
