Audition Information
|
Dear Parents and Guardians, The audition for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of Rumpelstiltskin will be held on Monday, March 14th 2016 at 3:35 pm in the Woodridge Cafe. There are roles for those students in the 1st through 5th grade. Approximately 60 local students will be cast to appear in the show with the MCT Tour Actor/Director. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. Students wishing to audition must arrive by the scheduled start time of 3:35 and stay for the entire two-hour session until 5:30 PM. All Auditions are voluntary by students. Parents may come to the cast reading by the director at about 5:10 PM. Auditions will conclude at 5:30 pm, with the first rehearsal beginning approximately 15 minutes after the audition. For students who have been selected and are required to start rehearsing at 5:45, we suggest that a light snack or sack dinner be provided. This is a group audition–no advance preparation is necessary. Students should just come as they are and enjoy the experience! Rehearsals will be conducted every day from 3:35 pm to 7:45pm in the Woodridge Cafe and the another room. Wednesdays, the rehearsals will be from 1:15-3:15 and 3:30-5:30 PM. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week, and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition. See an example of a rehearsal schedule Cast members scheduled for the full 4½ hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a sack dinner or snack. There will be two performances held on Saturday, March 19th in the Woodridge Café. One show at 4:00 PM. The students in the cast will be called for a dress rehearsal, 4 hours before the performance that day. All cast members must be available for all scheduled performances. The Missoula Children's Theatre is a non-profit organization based in Missoula, Montana. This coming year more than 65,000 cast members across the globe will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their families, friends, community, neighbors and teachers!
