🌎💗Plastic Film Drive @ Woodridge – April 20-24!

Description

We have the chance to keep plastic film out of landfills! This week, aligned with Earth Day, our 4th grade Green Team is hosting a Ridwell recycling drive. You’re invited to bring clean and dry plastic film (ziptop bags, Amazon envelopes, grocery bags, bubble wrap, and lots more) to school between April 20th and 24th and Ridwell will make sure it stays out of landfills. Each classroom will have a collection bag as will the main office! This info sheet explains what plastic film is and why it’s hard to recycle, and this video shows a ton of examples. This link will test your plastic film IQ. All the plastic film we collect during the drive will be turned into Trex decking!

Curious about recycling more from home, like the school is doing? Visit Woodridge’s drive’s website to learn more about Ridwell—and share the page with family and friends nationwide! You can help the school earn plastic-film pickups for the entire ‘26/’27 school year if 10 new members join Ridwell Pickups or Mail-in through our school’s webpage by May 22nd!
